Energy awareness, energy efficiency, renewables and practical support for communities, residents and housing across the North East.
Why this matters
Many households across the North East don't have enough clear information about energy efficiency, renewable energy, available support or the benefits of home energy improvements.
People often delay taking action — not because they don't want a warmer, cheaper home, but because the process feels unclear, the market feels hard to trust, or they simply don't know what support may be available to them.
We're here to change that, one community at a time.
The benefits
Understand the changes that can reduce what households spend each year.
Insulation and better heating mean homes that stay comfortable for longer.
Warm, dry, well-ventilated homes support better day-to-day health.
Free or funded support may be available depending on eligibility and scheme rules.
Improved EPCs and longer-term value for homeowners and landlords.
Smaller footprint, cleaner energy, a better future for the region.
Awareness of green skills, training routes and local opportunity.
Clearer public information builds confidence in good quality work.

For communities & social housing
North East Energy Futures CIC exists to help make energy efficiency, renewables and home improvement benefits easier to understand — for council estates, housing association residents, social housing tenants and the wider community.
For installers & delivery partners
The CIC can support awareness and engagement around energy improvement works — helping communities understand the benefits, and helping delivery partners evidence social value.
For training & education partners
We want to work with training providers, colleges, education companies and apprenticeship schemes to help grow the green workforce the North East needs.
From apprentices and school leavers to adults retraining for a new career — men, women, anyone — there are real opportunities in retrofit, renewables, energy efficiency, warm homes and the wider net zero and decarbonisation sector. We help raise awareness of those routes and connect people with the providers who train them.
We are not a training provider ourselves. We raise awareness and help connect people, communities and partners with suitable training routes across the region.
